CLSJ Hosts Census Day Party with Hot 97 to Get New York’s Black Communities Counted

New York, NY—- As the national fight to extend the Census 2020 deadline continues, The Center for Law and School Justice at Medgar Evers College (CLSJ) will spur local communities to complete the Census at its Census Day Party on Saturday September 26, 2020 from 3pm-6pm. Hosted by Hot 97 and featuring legendary Hip Hop DJ, DJ Enuff, the socially distanced gathering will include music, good vibes and the opportunity to complete the Census online or with the assistance of CLSJ’s community outreach team.

Co-sponsored by Bedford Stuyvesant Restoration Corporation, Census Day Party was created to galvanize communities of African descent to increase its Census 2020 completion rate, bolstering local hard-to-count neighborhoods. 

Local community leaders and elected officials will attend and underscore the urgency for New Yorkers to complete the Census. Confirmed participants include Councilmember Farah Louis, State Senator Zellnor Myrie, State Senator Kevin Parker and Councilmember Laurie Cumbo.
